The new year is quickly approaching, and with it comes a whole new batch of beauty and skin care trends! As seen on Fox 35’s Good Day Orlando, here are our big predictions!
1. Skin Rolling
If working on your skin is on your list of resolutions for the new year, you have to try skin rolling in 2016. Skin rolling can reduce inflammation, increase circulation, lift sagging skin and re-sculpt drab facial features. Try it for yourself with a skin roller (we’re using the Skincool Ice Roller) — just roll up and out toward the temples three times a week after you apply your daily serum.
2. Pantone’s Colors of the Year
For the first time, Pantone has chosen two colors as their Colors of the Year: Rose Quartz and Serenity. Just like last year’s Marsala, we’ll be seeing Rose Quartz and Serenity all over home, fashion and beauty trends. While incorporating pink and blue shades into your beauty routine may seem intimidating, there are simple ways to explore — try a colored eyeliner, polish or even just a brighter lip!
3. Bold Lip, Bare Face
The simple eye/bold lip combo is bound to take off in the new year. We love this look because it’s versatile enough to take from day to night without being overbearing or requiring too much product! To try it at home, focus on minimal eye makeup and a bright, bold lip color. And be brave! Downplaying the eye gives you leeway to stray from the safe pinks and mauves you’re used to and really step out of your comfort zone.
4. Highlight, Highlight, Highlight!
In 2015, we saw the rise of the contour — thanks to mega-stars like Kim Kardashian, this age-old red carpet technique became a household name. In the new year we’re seeing a shift toward contour’s lesser-known counterpart: the highlight. Instead of focusing on sculpting, try playing up the areas you want to emphasize with some shimmer while maintaining the look of little to no makeup (we like Glo Minerals’ Contour/Highlight Kit!).
